About App

Welcome to App—the minimalist space for photographers and creators who love the soul, grit, and depth of classic film.

Our mission is to make the timeless aesthetic of analog photography accessible to everyone. Whether you are a professional photographer or just looking to give your everyday phone photos a vintage look, App lets you apply authentic film simulations and host your galleries seamlessly from any device.

How It Works (Without the Bulk)

Traditional photo filters often rely on heavy, resource-draining software that slows down your browser. App does things differently by using a clever color-mapping system called HALD-CLUT (Color Look-Up Tables).

Think of a HALD-CLUT as a tiny color blueprint. Instead of guessing how to change colors, App instantly reads this blueprint to map your digital photo's colors to match the exact chemical response, grain, and contrast of legendary film stocks. The result? Stunning, mathematically accurate film simulations rendered instantly right in your browser.

Why You'll Love App

Zero Friction: A lightweight web app that requires no hefty downloads or installs. It works beautifully on desktops, tablets, and smartphones alike.
Curated Authenticity: From the warm, nostalgic tones of vintage consumer films to the sharp, dramatic contrast of classic black-and-white stocks, our library brings true analog character to digital frames.
A Community-Driven Gallery: Upload your creations, build your personal aesthetic gallery, and share high-quality, beautifully graded photographs with an audience that appreciates the art of the shot.

🎞️ Help Us Grow: Contribute Your Own Film Styles

App is built on a foundation of open-source innovation, expanding on the incredible library provided by cedeber's HALD-CLUT framework. We want to preserve as many classic and custom film styles as possible—and we need your help to do it.

If you are a film photographer or a digital colorist with a signature look, you can share your custom styles directly with our community:

The Quickest Way (Coming Soon): We are currently building an In-Browser CLUT Generator and Uploader. Soon, you will be able to simply upload a before-and-after image directly to App. Our platform will automatically extract the color grading data, generate the CLUT file, and add your custom filter to our library instantly.
Via Email (Preferred): If you already have your .png HALD-CLUT files ready, you can email them directly to us at $juliannowakpaypal@gmail.com. This is the fastest way to get your styles reviewed and added to the app.
Via GitHub: If you prefer using developer workflows, you can submit a pull request to our project's fork of the original repository. Please note that we don't check this repository daily, so email or the on-site tool remains the fastest route!
